SUMMER PROGRAMS
Counselor in Training and Counselor in Training 2

The Counselor in Training program (CIT) is a hands-on leadership program designed for high school students looking to gain professional experiences through working with young children and adults. The CIT’s are under the mentorship of a director and lead counselor as they progress through the program. CIT’s will be able to experience, first-hand, the roles and responsibilities of acting as a counselor for campers.

The CIT program encompasses education sessions, where participants learn about leadership and youth-facing mentoring skills, as well as teambuilding, and practical application time working embedded in groups of campers.

CIT candidates must be at least 13 years old, and entering Grade 9 or higher in the fall.

CIT2 candidates must apply through the Director- you can reach us at eaglesedge@st.johnsprep.org.  Candidates will have completed CIT 1, or have a demonstrable history of leadership experience. CIT2 Candidates must be entering Grade 10 in the fall.

SINCE 1946 • BOYS & GIRLS AGES 4-12

From sparking new interests to making new friends, Camp Christopher gives 4- to 12-year-olds a summer of fun and new adventures. Campers have the unforgettable opportunity to develop important skills, try new activities, and play within the safety of a small group of boys and girls the same age. Each division of the program has been designed to challenge campers with the support of staff and fellow campers. At Camp Christopher our campers benefit from:

  • A close counselor-to-camper ratio within a small group structure
  • Experienced and caring staff who love what they do
  • Increasing opportunities for camper choice built into the schedule
  • A diverse and age-appropriate program with specialist driven and counselor driven activities
  • A safe and close-knit community where children discover new interests and create lifelong friendships
This camp must comply with regulations of the MDPH & be licensed by the LBOH.
